Their first device was an email pager which they released in 1999. And their latest devices are Z30, Z10 and Q10 etc. They are famous for the unique QWERTY keyboard design. But recently they have produced many big touchscreen smartphones without the QWERTY option.

This brand inspired messaging through mobile devices. The BlackBerry messenger used to be very popular. Chatting and text messaging seems like the core of their idea. They have sold 3% of all mobile devices throughout the world in the year 2011 and they have been the 6th most popular device maker. And among the sold devices, 25% are smart phones. Their internet service is available in about 91 countries and over 500 mobile operators are using this phone. In a statistic it shows that about 80 millions of people are using the BlackBerry devices. The BlackBerry sold most of their devices in Latin America and Caribbean regions. In the United States it is called as “ CrackBerry”.

History:

Their first device was released in 1999. That time the company was named as “BlackBerry” because the keyboard of the devices looks similar to the drupelets that is used to compose the BlackBerry fruit. Two of the primary models were were RIM 850 and 857. They used DataTAC network. Their first smart phones were released in 2003 and they are known as convergent. The features included here are mobile telephone, internal faxing, browsing and push email. They gained more market by their email facilities. They offered email services by own software to many other companies They launched the Z10 and Q10 in the market which are touch screens. And also QWERTY keyboards. But they failed to make the expected impact on the market. So on August 12, 2012 they announced to sell the company.
