Microsoft Mobile or Microsoft Lumia Mobiles are beloved in Bangladesh for excellent pricing, cool colorful designs, great camera quality, long battery backup and last but not the least the ever improving Windows Operating System. But just because Android is popular, strong and stable in Bangladeshi market, Microsoft is facing extreme competition. According to IDC, as of 2015 Q1, Windows phones were having just 2.7% of the global smartphone market share whereas android gained 78% and Apple iPhone iOS concurred 18.3% share. Although, android is still occupying the vast part of the market, Windows 10 also looks highly desirable for smartphone enthusiasts and Microsoft is expecting that this upgrade may change the game in 2016.

History

Microsoft is mainly known for their windows operating system and its founder Bill Gates is one of the richest person of the world. Few years ago, Microsoft bought the company Nokia but was still releasing smartphones under the popular brand name Nokia. But at the end of 2014, they have decided to erase the name Nokia for smartphones and completely re-brand it with the name Microsoft Lumia Phones. They have done in quite professionally and they have been quite successful so far with this big risky decision of complete re-branding.

Lumia Devices

As the market for low priced smartphone is on rise, especially in developed country like Bangladesh, they are now focusing more on bringing affordable phones in the market. But they are also working for releasing high quality devices for elite group with excellent camera, display quality, internet browsing speed, gaming, long battery backup etc. Again, with Windows 10, Microsoft is coming with a very different yet impressive and unique vision. Same apps can be run in PC, Tabs and Smartphones under same interface. It would be interesting to see how far the development goes in the positive direction and what it contributes to Microsoft Corporation as a whole. But they are surely one of the top players in global market and indeed the plan is to stay there in a long run!
